The Republic of Vanuatu is a country located in the South Pacific Ocean close to Australia & Fiji. Vanuatu consists of a chain of 83 islands with a total land area of 12,199km². The country is a former joint protectorate of the UK and France and achieved independence in 1980. It is now a member of the United Nations and the Commonwealth. This settlement pattern resulted in the main languages spoken on the archipelago to this day being English, French and Bislama. The Vanuatu economy is primarily based on agriculture which makes the island self-sufficient. Cocoa, Kava and Timber are the most important exports, with Australia and New Zealand being the main export destinations. Tourism and financial services also make up an important part of the economy of Vanuatu. The government has recently improved air connections, resort development and cruise facilities to boost the tourism sector. The main tourist attractions include the unique flora and fauna as well as one of the most easily accessible active volcanoes in the world.

The Vanuatu Development Support Program (DSP) was created by the Government of Vanuatu in 2017. The objective of the plan is to facilitate and attract overseas investors, Vanuatu has passed and enacted all necessary legislation and regulations. The Government of the Republic of Vanuatu launched the Development Support Program (DSP) for the purpose of raising funds to support infrastructure and promoting economic development of Vanuatu.

This ceremony can take place at any country of the investor’s choice without the need to visit or reside in Vanuatu at any point during or after the application process.

To be able to apply for this program, you should be at least 18 years of age, in good health, and without a criminal record. In addition, you are required to make a non-refundable contribution to the government. The contribution starts from USD 130,000 to the Vanuatu Development Support Program (DSP) Fund.

Vanuatu Citizenship gives the investor the full citizenship rights and permits dual citizenship. Investors won’t need to denounce their current nationality and will pass on the Vanuatu one to future generations by descent.

Candidates may apply for Vanuatu Citizenship by contributing to the Government of Vanuatu. They can apply either as a Single Applicant or as a Family of up to Four (4) members.

Key Events in Three Stages


Stage 1

  • This step is carried out by the Vanuatu Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). Success at this stage results in a letter being issued to confirm the applicant is cleared for Citizenship subject to completing the remaining requirements of the process.

Stage 2

  • The total fee needs to be remitted in time for Stage 2 which is when all documents for checklist are required.

Stage 3

  • Oath Ceremony. This will be witnessed by the Vanuatu Government’s appointed Commissioner for Oaths. In this ceremony the new Citizen receives their Certificate of Vanuatu Citizenship as well as their new Vanuatu Passport.
